25 Facts About Me

Tuesday, January 30, 2018

Hello everyone!

Since I started my blog over 2 years ago, I have gained may new followers and friends, so I wanted to make a post for you all to get to know me a little better, and see some of my life outside of books. When I first started my blog, the first real post I did was a 50 Facts About Me that you can read here. I decided that doing another 50 facts would be a little much, and most of the information on the last post is still valid (though a lot has changed over the last 2 years). So here are updated 25 facts about me!

  1. I have been book blogging for over two years now, and the first two years were on Blogger before I switched to Wordpress in July of 2017.

  2. 2017 was the year I read the most books of any year so far, and that was only 20 books because I am such a slow reader.

  3. My three favorite series are Harry Potter, Throne of Glass, and A Court of Thorns and Roses.

  4. J.K. Rowling is my all-time favorite author, and she is also my writing inspiration.

  5. I have been writing a novel on and off for the past two years, but I write a lot of short stories and novellas.

  6. I love to make writing playlists for inspiration of characters and scenes.

  7. I usually need some kind of background noise to keep myself focused while reading.

  8. I can never eat and read at the same time - I always get distracted by either the book or the food (usually the food).

  9. The series that got me into reading Twilight, the Dark Hills Divide, Percy Jackson, and Maximum Ride.

  10. My favorite book-to-movie adaptation  (besides Harry Potter) is probably Divergent or The Maze Runner.

  11. My first crush in a book was probably Patch from Hush, Hush, but Fred Weasley didn't come too long after that.

  12. My current book-crush is Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses, and I know a lot of you feel the same lol

  13. Even though it is my all-time favorite series, I have only read the Harry Potter series once all the way through, and the only book I read more than once from the series was the 7th one (I read it twice).

  14. I recently made a bookstagram and I am addicted to it (@taylorisreading ;) ).

  15. I got a job in my junior year of high school, primarily to buy more books - and I know this because I spent all the money I made and I am now broke.

  16. My favorite characters from books are Hermione, Celaena Sardothien (more than Aelin), Rhysand, Thora (Ash Princess) and Ignifex (Cruel Beauty).

  17. My favorite classic book is either Hamlet by Shakespeare or Candide by Voltaire. It would probably be a Jane Austen book if I actually bought a physical copy instead of reading half of the books on free kindle books.

  18. I hate when there's documents in books, but I loved Iluminae - tell me how that makes sense.

  19. I adore mythology and legends when they appear in books like Percy Jackson or faeries or strange monsters. I incorporated them into the book I'm writing.

  20. My favorite time to read is early in the morning because I get really distracted throughout the day.

  21. When I listen to music while reading, I HAVE to have headphones in and it has to be kind of loud so I don't get so distracted trying to listen to it.

  22. My favorite song on my novel's writing playlist is Thunder Clatter by Wild Cub - it fits one scene of my book sooo well and whenever I hear the song, I can just picture my characters so happy together before stuff REALLY happens.

  23. The area around me has to be perfectly neat for me to concentrate on reading or writing - this goes for doing homework and studying, too.

  24. The summer before my senior year of high school, my mom and brother did some research on Ancestry about my family, the Cogswells, and we discovered we're related to all kinds of people, including Ralph Waldo Emerson and Nathniel Hawthorne (and Princess Diana, but she's not book-related).

  25. I discovered my love for writing and my talent for it in sixth grade when my reading/writing teacher pointed out that he loved the stories I wrote for him using the weeks' vocabulary words.

Thanks for reading!
