A Book Outlet haul

Hello everyone!

A couple weeks ago, I posted about a bunch of really great deals going on at Book Outlet (I am not promoting Book Outlet in any way, I just think they're really great). Today I am going to go through my Book Outlet unboxing!

I had actually forgotten exactly what books I had ordered, so opening all of them felt like Christmas all over again. They were all super cheap (under $11) as well, which was great for my college student budget.

So, let's move on to the books I ordered!

And I Darken by Kiersten White

In this novel we follow Lada and her brother who are stolen from their home empires and raised in the Ottoman. There, Lada plots her vengeance, but the only person she finds worthy of her attention is the heir to the throne she despises.

It seems like there will be a lot of political intrigue and spoiled friendships, which I love. I also feel like there will be a hate to love relationship between Mehmed and Lada.

Roar by Cora Carmack

In this high fantasy novel, we follow Aurora Pavan, who is the heir to the Pavan throne, but she has yet to show any of the powers of her ancestors to protect her people. Her mother attempts to remedy this by arranging a marriage for Aurora to stay in power; however, Aurora begins to uncover some secrets about the man, and decides to take matters into her own hands by unknowingly joining a group of storm hunters. Legend says that her ancestors first gained their powers by facing a storm and stealing its essence.

This book sounds amazing. It has a lot of elemental magic, but a kind that seems very unique. And again, there seems to be some political dealings, but in a different kind of political landscape.

Truthwitch by Susan Dennard

In this book there is Saifya. She is a truthwitch, which is a highly desired power, especially among the nobility she is born into (they are, like, willing to kill for this power) because she can discern any lie from the truth. She attempts to keep her power a secret, but Iseult, a threadwitch, can see all the ties bearing down on her.

Everyone has raved about this book for so long, so I am incredibly proud to finally have it in my possession. It's another high fantasy novel, which I adore, and I am really feeling the unique-ability witch vibe.

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff

Mia is a prodigy assassin that attends a school for youth just like her. After her father's failed rebellion and his execution, her ability to talk to the shadows leads her to a retired assassin. From there, she joins the deadliest group of assassins in the Republic, and she must prove herself worthy of induction.

This book sounds dark, with dark magic, and I am so ready for it. Yeah, it's Spring and everything is supposed to be very light and magical, BUT dark fantasy is fantastic. I am also really interested in the kind of magic that will be introduced.

Scythe by Neal Shusterman

Ina  world where all causes of death have been eliminated, Citra and Rowan train to be a Scythe - the only thing that can kill these practically immortal people. In their apprenticeship to a Scythe, Citra and Rowan must prove that they can master the art of death.

This book is all anyone has been talking about since it's second book recently came out, and there was a time on bookstagram where every other picture I saw was of Scythe. I am so interested in how this will play out and what this really peculiar world where death isn't a thing unless it's done by a Scythe.

So, those are all the books from my Book Outlet order! Let me know down below what you think of these books.

Thanks for reading!
