What's on my July 2018 TBR

With July comes the ending of summer and the near beginning of autumn. To me, autumn begins in August even if it is still one hundred plus degrees outside here in Florida. But school is back in session, so that means fall. As my June reading hadn't gone as planned, I decided to just take it easy and not set such high expectations. I am going to stick to three books, though I am unsure which of the last two I am going to read as I am such a mood reader.



But my July TBR is as follows:

Truthwitch by Susan Dennard.

Yes, this was on my June TBR... No, I was not able to get to it. Time felt like it was flying by in June. Literally I looked at the calendar and it was the sixth, then I looked the next day and it was the twenty-first. I don't know how that happened, but it did. So this month I hope I can get around to this one!


~ Synopsis ~


Safiya is a young Truthwitch, which is a very desired power - especially in the nobility she was born into. In an attempt to protect herself, Safiya keeps her ability hidden because some are even willing to kill for it. However, Iseult, a Threadwitch, can see right through her and the two form an unlikely alliance to keep themselves safe.


Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.

For some reason, I had been waiting for summer to read this book even if it is incredibly dark and twisted and should be a fall read, but here we are! I watched the movie and fell in love with the twists and turns and unpredictability of the piece that I had to read the book. I have never read an adult mystery before so it should be interesting...


~ Synopsis ~


When his wife goes missing without a trace, Nick is on a journey to find her amidst the pressure of secrets and lies. Not only is he blamed for her kidnapping and suspected murder, he even begins to doubt himself and his ability to do such a thing.


 And there's the plot twist of the century...


Nevernight by Jay Kristoff or And I Darken by Kiersten White.

I am really tossed on which one I would read... Maybe if I'm lucky enough I can read both! I doubt it though, and I'm not going to let myself get my hopes too high. They both sounds unique and are both high fantasy which is right up my alley - no, it is my alley. My entire alley is YA high fantasy and anything else I love is simply a side street. I do kind of want to read this fall though... so tossed.

    I have a growing list of books I’ve agreed to read for reviews so I’m hoping to fly through some of those in July! Reading on my phone takes so much longer 😩

    I haven't heard of the others, but I've always wanted to look into Gone Girl (since the film became a People's Choice Award lol) Truthwitch sounds interesting too! I'll have to look into that as well! I'm currently listening to The Gender Game on Audiobook! Pretty good so far!

    Truthwitch and And I Darken are both so amazing, I hope you love them! 💜 I can't tell if I'm in a historical or contemporary mood and it's throwing me off! Summer is so confusing for mood reading aha 😊😍

    I'm hoping to read some books written by Obama and Ruth Bader Ginsburg's autobiography. Super political, ha! But I haven't read any non-fiction in a while and I think these books will be super good! I'm also reading We Are Okay and the Astonishing Color of After.
